Patch 0.2.0b Update – Correction & Hotfix Notes
Important adjustments have been made in the follow-up hotfix to address some of the more extreme nerfs and campaign balance issues introduced in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt (Patch 0.2.0).
- Campaign Monster Health Adjusted: Non-unique monsters now have reduced Life throughout the campaign. Life scales down to 75% between levels 8–15, remains 25% lower from level 15–46, and then scales back to 100% from 46–64. Endgame monsters remain unaffected.
- Rogue Exiles Hit Hard: Their Life has been further reduced by an additional 40% on top of the global monster HP changes.
- “of the Hydra” Modifier Reworked: This Life Regeneration mod now only appears at level 65+, making early fights less frustrating.
- Tempest Bell Buffed: Combo requirement to activate is reduced from 10 to 4, fixing one of the most criticized nerfs from 0.2.0.
- Grenade Cooldowns Reduced: Explosive Grenade and Voltaic Grenade now have a 5-second cooldown, improving their reliability.
- Curse Radius Increased: All Curse Skill Gems now scale more effectively. Starting at 1.5m radius at level 1 and growing to 3.1m at level 20 (previously 2.1m).
This hotfix shows that GGG is closely listening to feedback and tuning the difficulty curve—especially in the campaign—to ease some of the early pain while maintaining endgame challenge. If you were struggling through Acts 2–5, things should now feel a bit more forgiving.

Concoction Skills (Poison/Bleed/Ignite) | Require unarmed set, consume more flask charges, no base scaling | Niche and gear-intensive now |

Arc / Shock Builds (Sorceress) | Arc lost bonus chain damage; Lightning Conduit shock scaling gutted | Severely weakened – not boss viable |
What Builds to Consider Instead
- Hybrid Melee/Ranged: Huntress (Spear) – combines elemental damage, mobility, and synergy
- Tanky Strength Scaling: Smith of Kitava (Warrior) – craftable body armor + fire-themed attacks
- Minion/Support Hybrid: Tactician (Mercenary) – works with projectile Pins and Supporting Fire
- Dark Ritualist: Ritualist (Huntress) – uses corpse sacrifice and corrupted blood effects
Potential Fixes and Alternatives
- Invoker Tempest Bell: Replace with Explosive Spears + Twister or Fire combo setups
- Attribute Stackers: Rely more on hybrid builds with Life/Spirit instead of pure stats
- Minion Builds: Pair with Tactician’s group aura and new Raise Spectre combinations
- Archmage Casters: Transition to mana-efficient spell builds with flat scaling
- Arc / Lightning Builds: Shift toward Lightning Rod Arrow or spell crit instead of shock-based burst
- Curse Casters: Use Hexblast with better timing and longer duration curses
